 Week 1


Our group was split into the Thursday and Friday group. On Thursday we had one member working due to him being a CSEE student and the rest of the group (EEE) worked on Friday. In our academic advisor session and group meeting, we discussed initial plans but, on the Thursday, we realised the parts had an error in being ordered that was out of our control as we had submitted the forms in time. This meant there was limited we could do in terms of actually getting started. Despite these initial setbacks, we got the initial CAD designs started and got some of the initial circuit planning and building done. We were also able to allocate the roles to each member. In the lab, we were able to use an arduino emulator to emulate some of the parts although the testing was far from ideal without the actual circuit components. We worked as a group to realise the rest of the lab weeks would require more work due to the initial setbacks. It was planned the skittles would fall down an initial tube one by one. These skittles would then rotate and be detected by the colour sensors. The detection of the skittles would then move the skittle into whichever cup would be necessary.
